I want to upgrade my new a4....not enough to buy another supercharger, but my friend told me to get new "cams" what are they??

 

cams are the big shafts in your engine that open and close your valves. aggressive cams will increase your valve timing and give you a little more power...they're pretty damn expensive though for gains that aren't too great...and they're even more expensive to have installed. if you don't know what they are, you most likely won't be able to install them yourself.

EDIT: i believe tap1 has some for the 2.8L, they're something like 600 bucks for a few horsepower (10+)

 

ha i was thinking the same thing earlier today. go and buy the new DSport Magazine, it has a huge write up on cams, very informative.

 

cams= camshafts they open and close the valves. im not sure what that would do u unless u got like vtec ones which give u didfferent timeing and like 10-20 more power, i dont think it would be worth the high price though
