what kind of BOV??
I need to get a newspaper so I can smack people on the nose and say "NO." Which has nothing to do with this post...
In other words, don't get a BOV. There is evidence that they can do damage to your engine because the 1.8t engine was designed to use the recirculated air from the diverter valve that comes with the car. They're useless, unless you actually liked Fast and Furryous. (Yes, I meant to spell it that way)

Well it does matter.
Your engine's computer is expecting all of that boost to flow through into the engine, rather than being blown out into the atmosphere. You will seriously end up causing more problems than that little sound is worth.
If you go with a BOV setup, from my understanding, you need to get specific software that will be calibrated for that. You will probably find more answers on this topic over at www.audizine.com as they have more people with BOV setups.
