i am going to change my own oil .... so i went to the local auto store and went WOAH ... i knew there was alot of different kinds but wow ... what is the best for my car it is a 98 a4 quattro manual 2.8l with 124k ... i would like to get somthing that is good for highmilleage ... i'm not sure if that really means anything but i hear it helps ... and i've heard to go synthetic also ? ... any ideas would be great ... also do i need to change anything else besides the oil filter and oil while doing this job?

mobil 1 and as i stated in another thread, DO NOT use a fram, napa, or any other cheapo filter. get one from a dealership or order one from www.ecstuning.com

 

I actaully use the k&n cold oil fiter.

 

k&n doesn't really fall under the category of cheapo filters in my book...but just to be safe i like to stick to the audi filter

depending on the engine. look in the owners manual and find the viscosity that best meats the type of drivng and more importantly the climate that you will be opperating under. sould be about that easy.
