As to the oil question Id use a synthetic oil in the flavor you choose, might want to stay with dealer recomended viscosities

As to your CEL check you oil level now or before you drive anywhere if its low... your an idiot... if not take it to the dealer asap

 

I use Mobil 1 5W 30. Just stick to synthetic. Is the oil level low? Reason I ask is because I had the same light come on and my level was fine. The light can be indicative of other problems than just the oil level being low. As for the CEL, you're still under warranty so I'd just have them check it out at the same time you have them check out the oil issue. I wouldn't drive it with the oil light on though. Get it towed. Better safe than sorry.

 

Yah basicaly what I was sayin, the cel might be because you have low oil pressure or something of that nature... if you drive it with low oil pressure best case senario is you get scoring in your cylinders or something like that worst case... engine seizes

 

A good choice is ow-40, 5w-40, or 10w-40. I use mobile One 0w-40. DUDE GET THAT OIL LIGHT CHECKED OUT!

 

i have a 99 a4 V6, i use 5 quarts of 10W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic. But check ur oil, if its low put oil in it asap, u dont wanna ruin the engine.

 

Keep in mind that Mobile 10w-30 isnt recommended by Audi.

Only Mobile oils are:
- M1 0W-40 (VW 502.00, VW 503.01)
- M1 15W-50 (VW 505.00 - diesel spec))
