OK...I can't seem to find a replacement knock sensor for my car ('03 A4 1.8T Quattro). Is the "camshaft position sensor" the equivalent? I would assume so, as they sound like they have similar functions.

The specs on that part do not include my car. The sensor for the '03 A4 1.8T Quattro is suspiciously MIA everywhere I look. My Bentley manual does not mention the part number, and it looks like there two in this car.

Might have to go to the dealer, which sucks.

The part number in the PureMS website is actually valid until the end of 2003.

Here is the new part number for the AMB engine, kinda strange, there's 2 PN. (it should be the most recent, I update my ETKA every week).

Maybe contact PureMS and ask them if they have the new one or if the one they have will be OK with your car.

One's blue and one's green? There are supposedly two on my car, so maybe that's how the differentiate them?

How can I get the ETKA too?

The error has not resurfaced since I cleared it, so perhaps it was a fluke...or bad gas.

"My wife also thinks its my fault with all the tinkering I've been doing."

I know exactly how that is..... if someone hit my car, it would be my fault for doing all the work myself, what can you do?

You're right, 2 knock sensors (G61 and G66). I have no clue if one is blue and one green, sorry. Here is the location.

I got ETKA off eBay.

Here's what they (PureMS) had to say:

"Unfortunately that knock sensor is not compatible with your car. We do not
list a part available for your model year"

If it is the sensor going bad it looks like I'll have to take a trip to the dealership. Yuck.
