so i have had my car for about 2 months and i got $3,000 to begin upgrading my car, I know everyone has different opinions with this questions but i want to get some feed back.

I was thinking with a premium tune up with all new belts, hoses, plugs, wires, all liquid flush

Then i was thinking of starting with intake, headers, pipes and muffler, and a jet chip? rims??

Honestly i dont know where to start but i do know that i want to keep my car looking pretty close to factory except the head lights that came with the car i kinda like them on a white car, i was thinkin of throwing on some S4 rims ( the ones with 5 or 6 spokes that are thick and have a divit and the end of each spoke) but then again i dont know where to begin but i want to keep upgrading but all i got is 3K for now??????????

 

Maintenance before mods, always. As for mods... exhaust, sway bars, shocks/springs/coilovers, intake, tints, wheels, paint unders, lots to choose from.

 

'96 2.8... wasn't that the 12v?


From what I understand, you're not gonna get much speed out of that. I'd stick with cosmetic mods, or trade it for a 1.8t or a 30v 2.8 (then supercharge that one).

 

Tint your windows.....hehe

Save the 3 grand and sell your A4, and get a 1.8T if you want to make power.

 

I tend to agree with everyone.. I just got my 225TT chipped and now I don't want to touch my A4... Get the 1.8T....

 

If you want to "Mod" your car, go ahead and upgrade the taillights if that hasnt been done, put some nice wheels on the car, and a good suspension setup then viola! You are done

 

haha ditto. If I had three grand to blow I'd sell it and get 99+ 1.8T or even a 2.8. Not feeling the 12Vs. But if you really like your car go with the maint over mods way, then get some shocks & springs, wheels, and tint. You'll be set.

 

Depending on the milage, definitley take care of any maintainence. If you're over 80K miles and your timing belt hasn't been changed, DO IT. Major damage to your engine if it breaks.

In terms of modifications....Lightweight wheels and some good tires....shocks/springs or coilovers.....catback exhaust (borla is great)....a rear swaybar to reduce the understeer our cars are prone to....an intake if you want, but it won't do you much good at all....shortshifter if you're a manual.....yeah, that's about all the ideas I've got for now.

 

i have 2.8 and if u wanna mod engine this isnt the car man mostly looks unless u wanna drop like 4500 on a supercharger. if that even works on urs. but if you like the car make it look sexy
