you need other supporting mods to accompany a bigger turbo including a new chip (software tuning) injectors, exhaust, fpr, intake, mbc,and fmic.
If he wants more power, maybe 50hp extra, he can get JUST a chip and new diverter valve and be set. Any more than that, and he's looking at big turbo/big money. Tell your cousin to join and start using the search.
Tell your cousin to check out www.giacusa.com or www.goapr.com for chip tuning.

BOV's are bad because well, Audi's aren't made to work with them. BOV's let the air out into the atmosphere, Audi's use DV's which are a closed loop system...

making cars go faster and being broke dont mix. BOV's are bad for audi's because BOV's blow off air that the engine is expecting and preparing A/F adjustments for.. So if you blow off air, youre going to have a rich A/F ratio which leads to all sorts of bad things. A diverter valve recirculates the airthat a bov would normaly vent off to the atmosphere.

The part description and the picture of that turbo differ. From the looks of it, it definately will not fit a passat/a4. Even if it would work, youd need a k04 chip, and other supporting mods that are out of the question since your cousin is broke, so why are we even talking about it? [&:]
