Right now I have APR stage1+, FMIC, DV, turbo back exhaust, and I have a snub mount and a boost gauge on the way. I am just wondering what I should get next. I am thinking bigger brakes and a clutch before a bigger turbo. Im not to sure. How reliable is the 1.8 with a bigger turbo. by the way its a 2002 a4 1.8t

then go bigger a BT set up is pretty reliable as long as you take care of it... yea there will be little things you need to fix here and there but nothing too much... the motors can easily handle 350whp without internal mods so you will be fine with like a gt2871rs

Only thing i can say is a bigger turbo is going to be more lag which may not be what you want. The 1.8t has such short gearing, by the time you hit full boost in 1st gear it will be time to shift and you really have to get into it with a BT on a 1.8tto get the power out of it. Nothing wrong with that if you must have 300+whp (it feels nice). But I personally think the K04 is the best all round turbo for the 1.8t. Early spool up, tons of torque, and can approach almost 300 hp reliably with the right tuning and other supporting mods. I just think its more useable power. Dont get me wrong, id never ever turn down a BT 1.8t, but i dont think it would be my first choice-personally, being a city boy. If I was out in the country with wide open roads id probably think differently.
