Im sure this question is on the forum somewhere..only I couldnt get the search forum to work correctly it kept saying enter string and everything seemed filled out right. Anyways.. If I was to pick up a 1999.5 - 2001 audi I dont know whether I should get a 150 hp 1.8t or the 190hp v6. I saw that the 0-60 for v6 was 7.1 seconds or somthing? While the turbo (hp seems really low for a turbo..) is around 8.1 seconds? I see on the forums everyone wants the turbo but I dont really see why they do. Wouldnt the v6 be better for an awd car? I dont know that much about cars so I need all your expert opinions. What one is the best and why?

 

you could get mine. and i guarente that you will enjoy the power or a turbo

 

you can't really do anything to the v6 as in mods, supercharger, 8-10 horsepower chip and that's about it, the 1.8 turbo the mods are endless, you can get a chip +40 horsepower, upgrade turbo, etc,etc. big horsepower out of a small engine, if you want't to do mods get the turbo, if you want to cruise with moderate power get the v6.

 

BTW, welcome to the forum, if your looking at modding the car, go with the 1.8T, and if you want something that is reliable as all hell, then go with the 2.8

 

why do people downplay superchargers? if you go n/a, hit up a supercharger like PES. damn, that's hot. if 295 ain't enough, many sites you can google offer a chip and intake and exhaust to compliment a supercharger; many groups offer performance parts for n/a. don't listen to the 1.hate group that believes power only comes in turbines. http://www.superchargersonline.com/p...er=PES-2830VSC

 

Why? Because the supercharger is over $4k!!!! For a lot less you can have more power from a 1.8t!

 

dreaming isn't about a monetary figure. and for the 295, what do you at to a 1.8? great additions to both i think, but from a mechanical point of view, one supercharger to go bad; turbo, wategate, divertervalves (don't know all involved in turbos) but more parts = more parts to break. not saying either is better or worse, just that if you got n/a, you got options.
