I lifted the hood today and discovered this part has some white corrosion along with a small hole. What part is this /part# that i can identify it by in order to get a new one? Where can i buy, and can i just pop it in myself?

I just got my audi and i did notice that white residue there too. being new to audi, i don't have a clue what that little thing does or if the residue has any effect. may be some of the veterans can shed some light...

 

Ahh, the infamous one-way vacuum check valve. That one tends to rub on the little metal clip right in front of it. It will cause a vacuum leak and problems with your EVAP emissions. Can get on line for about 15 dollars.

Anybody have a part number...or a way to look up part #'s?

 

its a one way chech valve for the evap. Can be bought at an auto parts store in the HELP! section for like 5 bucks.
