hey all im new to this forum and new to the audi world.....but i love them both already!!!!
so i just bought a 1996 A4 2.8 quattro (5 speed) and i am looking to do some simple boltons at the moment....what would you all do if you were in my possition??....

I would sell the 2.8 and buy a 1.8t

#1 you have a 2.8 so mods are not that cheap
#2 you have a 12v 2.8 so mods are not available most 2.8 mods (supercharger) are for the 98+ engine

 

so sell the 2.8....i will se what i can do...but in the meantime....best choice of mods for a 2.8 anyone???

 

you know basic stuff ....your car is a 96 i would get some headlights the 98-01 ones headlights intake ... maybe a nice s4 grill ..... i don't know let me know what your doing to your ride

 

I'm sorry to say it so bluntly but if you are asking about bolt-on mods for your engine then you SOL you got the wrong everything for that. All you can do is add a CAI and do exhaust and neither of those will give you any noticeable gains. External appearance mods are all your taste, you can go big with a full body kit or do what most people do and get your lowers painted - maybe add a S4 front bumper. There are other 12v guys around here - they will tell you the same - your options are very limited with your particular engine.

It doesn't get much more bolt on then a nice set of wheels right? I would go with that

 

Im one of the 12v guys...i love the car just because its reliable and decent for power. I recommend a DIY cone intake (shifts the power band a lil i think, and gives a slightly better throttle response), also a nice exhaust setup (go custom, and do a search to find info on them), slap some rims on her, then get her lowered with a nice setup of shocks and springs (H&R and bilsteins, or go coilovers (still thinkin of which route i should with for my car)), possibly a s4 front bumper like Akielb said, get some newer model tail lights, some newer headlights, and call it a day. thankyou everyone!! i think im gonna stick with the 2.8 and just do the simple stuff like everyone said....im looking to get some wheels and tires front and rear sway bars some time this week... i have already done the cone intake with a custom heatshield made of carbon fiber with a fan charger attached inside the air filter...i have noticed i a slight gain with the fan attached and a deeper engine tone

 

hold up... you put a fan in your intake ?
