Default What should I get?

I am in the market to buy a used car im stuck between two cars: Silver 2000 Volkswagen Passat V6 4motion or Red 1999 Audi A4 1.8T they both have over a 100,000miles the audi has 130,000. I plan on just moding either car withjust a couple bolt ons nothing more than exhaust, chip and intake.

As a neutral decision, i'd go for the audi. The B5 look I find is the nicest car for the price range, in both quality and performance.

if you want a chip than you gotta go w da 1.8...

If the A4 isn't quattro than go with the passat 4motion...are either of them 5-speed, you'll regret buying a tip in the long run, espacially after you get the mod bug...

gl!

The audi engine sounds really nice and smooth for having 130,000 miles I dont know how long of a life an 1.8T quattrohas if you use synthetic oil but im more in favor of the A4 than the Passat the only thing thats pushing me closer to the Passat is it has less miles 101,000. Both cars are less than 6 grand so the price is good on both and both are fully loaded with every feature available. I am a member of vwvortex because I had a Jetta before but sold it because it was a manual where I live there is to much traffic for a manual and it really anoid me, so now im looking into a auto.

interesting, usually people get sick of there autos.

i have to agree though, if you want to mod the car, then stick with the manual.

Stop & think about which forum you're posting in. Regardless of which car you decide to buy, keep in mind that the timing belt will have to be changed on both cars. The power of the 1.8t + chip = the power of the 3.0 V6. Personally, I'd stick with whichever one has a manual tranny. Does the A4 have quattro?

I believe the 2000 year passat had the 190hp 30v? Also, the 2000 passat will be the 3rd oldest body style. It got huge facelift in '01. Go for the Audi man. Chip it, and you will be very happy.
