I was just curious what should the oil temperature gauge read?
Between which intervals?

its a 98 V6 2.8L

Same question here I got a 98 1.8t. I remember before the temperature use to stay betwen the first and second line from the left. Now it always stays at the second line...

Could it be due to a leak ssomewhere ?

Mine almost never ets above 100c - that's 212 degrees for those without C gauges.
