My car is a 2000 a4,
I am going to get coilovers to drop the car. I would like to get it low but the question here is I am also get rims for my car and am looking into getting 18*8 and running with 235-40-18s
what back spaceing do I have to look for so I don't have rubbing problems, I really don't want to roll the fenders.
Thanks
I am only asking this because I really don't want to waste money and buy the wrong size rims.

well if you get coilovers you can adjust the height, so if it rubs you can raise it so it doesn't, I can't speak for a b5 because I have a b6, but if you have coilovers you can lift it, if you have springs thats another story.

I know that 18X8.5's will fit with a considerable drop.
I would assume that 18X8.0's would fit better

I'm not entirely sure how wide you can go. There's been a few threads on this topic. I think someone around here has 235's on. If you lift your car and take a look in the top of the rear wheel well, you'll see that there really isn't that much room in there because of the design of the suspension.
