yeah, I didn't know what it was called, I just think of something like a spider when I see it, hence, "spider spoke"

 

I call them "Y" spokes.

 

I just think it's funny how they evolved.

They began as a hubcap print then evolved as the alloy wheels started taking presidence. I keep getting these images of the old (~'70, give or take a few years) mustang wheels and drove me nuts cuz the car was awesome and then you've got these POS hubcaps on there throwing off the whole charm of the car.

Whereas the 5 spoke wheels have always been that... 5 spokes...

 

Can we get an official reading on what these damn things are really called?! y-spoke, mesh, spider-spoke, etc. What the hell is it? I hate refering to things by improper names, mainly cuz it makes me sound like an idiot.

 

i like any wheels that are good looking, and arent a pain in the *** to keep clean...

maybe i just need some brake pads w/ less brake dust

 

That is definitely one of the most important things for me at least. I have too many memories of washing my dad's car as a kid and getting pissed off cuz my fingers get all tired cleaning his wheels. I'm goin for simplicity now baby!!

Yeah... well, on the subject of cleaning hb972.8q: Those won't be easy to keep clean either. The bolts get nasty over time - I've seen some that even begin to corrode.

 

dont know if they would be ezer but my other wheels are these. they are currently in my basement with two flat tires thanks to boston roads. i know these were pita to clean

 

I can see what you are talking about! I like the way those wheels look, I just have too many painful memories of cleaning wheels like that. Whenever I'm home my dad always tells me I can wash his car whenever I ask him for some money for food or whathaveyou, and I just laugh and walk away for the sole reason of cleaning those damn wheels. To fill in the background, he has an SL55, and wheels have like 40 spokes!! Big PITA!!
