What is this thing on the pre-turbo intake pipe? if I look down the tube this is what the oil is coming from. Any ideas?

It's part of the crankcase breather system. It ventilates the crankcase and the air/oil is vented into the intake to get burned off through the motor. There will always be oil being vented, but it's when there's too much that you shoud be worried. Excess oil is typically from a bad valve or bad valve seals. I'm not really sure how to tell what an acceptable amount is though. You can try replacing the valve first or get an oil catch can.

Its called the PCV valve - and yes its for crankcase ventilation

1 - Vacuum hose To intake manifold 2 - Charge pressure bypass valve 3 - Hose To charge pressure bypass valve 4 - Intake air duct To connection at turbocharger 5 - Hose To Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) purge regulator valve 6 - Line To crankcase ventilation 7 - Socket-head bolt 10 Nm
8 - Sheet metal screw 9 - Hose To crankshaft ventilation line 10 - PCV valve For crankcase ventilation 11 - Hose To turbocharger 12 - Hose To vacuum diaphragm for wastegate 13 - Wastegate bypass regulator valve -N75- 14 - Elbow 15 - Hose To turbocharger

yea it is nick named the pancake valve the little diaphram gets old and wrinkley and lets oil pass though i think the only place that a i found one was the stealership and i had to read the part # off the top cause they had no idea what a pancake valve was, i do know that the pancake valve has been updated a bit it still looks the same but it is different inside

I'm pretty sure it's one of the 2 parts that's relatively cheap from the stealership.
