I found out that I need the K04 hammer file. Thanks for the help sdsteez.

 

I would, get an exhaust and save up if you want a future K04...

If not then just chip it, DV... then save up and get an exhaust on it and possibly an intake.

 

its not 500 to install a turbo, its gonna be about 3 hours labor at a shop with power tools, 75-85 an hour in price... do the math. its not a 8 hour job by any means.

 

If I were to get an exhaust in the near future, what type of exhaust should I be looking for now? Also, do the 01 A4's run any other K04 file besides the hammer. Do they work with pc16 or j31 or the GIAC x chip or anything else at all? I can't find anyone who is selling a chip with the hammer file. Thanks for the help all.

 

well if you are looking to go with a more agressive k04 file...you will either high flow cat, or test pipe and full exhaustm along with bigger injectors, and fmic

so the 700 for that stuff is a good price.. and i think if you are planning on going that way, i say pick that up and just dont put it on till you have the funds to get the rest of the stuff

and spend the other 500 bucks on a giac chip.. to hold you over then the software upgrade to the k04 file will only be about 200 bucks

 

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think im gonna just buy stuff as I can find good deals on it and for the time being get an exhaust and anything else needed to prep for the k04.
