so right now i have the infamous pleather... that should say it all right there... and i want real leather... should i go out and reupholster them at the local shop ... or should i look into some totally new seats? ... which one is more cost effective ? ... also anyone else have a broken lumbar support on their b5 ? i do, and i want it fixed ! later guys

i actually like the pleather, it cleans up easy ind its comfy.

 

I'd find out how much ech option would cost, then say to hell with it and throw a party.

 

i have the leatherette in my 02' a4.

i've been in an 02 b6 with real leather and the leatherette is far more comfortable.

personally, i do think the look of the real leather is a bit nicer (of course anyone else who gets in my car thinks the seats are real leather and are so smitten with the interior and the rest of the car that the last thing they are thinking about is if they are sitting on real leather...they just assume they are) but the real leather seats are really stiff and uncomfortable in comparison to the leatherette seats.

the recaros in the b6 s4 are heaven though.

 

On second thought, I'd probably go for the S4 interior with the alcantara seats.

 

I have real leather in my 99.5, and I wouldn't trade it for the faux stuff. I like the smell.

I like the leatherette... It just looks "tight"... Real leather is almost too "cusiony"/"fluffed" for me. Even though the leatherette can tear with age, Id rather sew that up than try to cover up the cracking that appears on real leather.... Plus real leather gets so hard with age. Get new leatherette!

 

haha wow ... mixed opinions gezzz.... yeah i dono ... all have good ponits .... i'm likin the "throw a party" idea though ... money will be the deciding factor thats what i think
