Hey guys! I'm new to the forum. I'm looking into buying a preowned A4 quatro, probably 03 and up. Does anyone have any recomendations. Is there a year I should stay away from. I heard some problem with the 1.8l turbo. I like the dual exhaust thing, does that come only on the 3.0l models?
I currently have an 02 S500. before that I had an 03 Zo6 and an 01 M3 cabrio.
Any recomendations would be great!

u should head for the RS4 from what i see you own b4...

 

Yea from what you've owned before anything less than a S4 would seem underpowered. All A4s are good, theres isn't a model year you should stay away from.

 

yea the RS4 is "only" 70k...cheaper than a s500

 

get a B6 A4 - and then mod mod mod

Well, since I moved to Portland from Las Vegas a year ago, I found my self not using my car as much. The power sounds great but for something that I will drive only to get out of town I really don't want to spend 70K!!! When did they put a new face on the A4?

 

Both engine models have the fake dual exhaust. '04's are nice because they have 6 speeds and factory painted lowers.

Between the 1.8t and the 3.0, what's the difference in hp? Is the 1.8t easier to mod? It seems like there are a lot more 1.8's around...

 

Yeah judging by your previous cars, I'd say get an 04-05 S-Line A4, or an S4. Or if you dig the new body style, a new S4 . Search for the differences, + and - of the 1.8T vs. 3.0 (02-05) and the 2.0T vs. 3.2 (05.5 and up).
