Turbo timers are an absolute waste of money plain and simple. There is a reason why they don't come from the factory on cars, they are completely unnecessary. If you drive your car like a normal human being for the last minute or two of your trip your turbo will be plenty cooled down to just turn the car off; even after a spirited hill climb. There is a lot of oil and coolant running through those turbos and they cool down pretty quick even when they are glowing red after a hard run. Just take it easy for the last minute/mile or two.

It doesn't hurt anything. If it's already there, might as well keep it. My point was that if you don't have one, don't bother buying one because the money would be better spent on other things like hookers and blow.

What he said. Besides, on a B6 your alarm won't function correctly with a turbo timer (not that the factory alarm is worth a szhit anyhow). If you can't drive normal the last minute or sit in the car for a minute after you get to where you are going, then you deserve to fry your turbo.
Take up smoking. Get to where you are going, and light up a cig while your car cools down. When cig is done, shut your car off.... lol.
Or, bring your girl along and get a quicky from her lefty and then shut car down. That'd be 30 seconds right there for me....
It's funny that some of the people who call BOV rice are the very ones who will put a ricer turbo timer on their car.

no i put one on my audi because i dont want my oil to cook on my turbo. i will drive the last minute slowly to let the turbo cool off. i will also let it run for 30 seconds to a min to let it further cool off. a turbo timer is not rice at all, a turbo time will increase the life of my turbo and for that im willing to spend the 100 bucks. luckly my evo came with one already on it so i got to pocket that 100 and get all the benefits.
