whats better 96 a4 or 98

sorry about the stupid question somebody told me that 96,s cant be upgraded ,is this true?

there are very little upgradeds for the 12V V6 your best bet if you want to mod would be a 1.8T if the 98 is a 30V there is a supercharger available for this

well unless you live in europe there was no 1.8T in north america till 97
