What's the diff? (turbo question)
Damn what an old thread, i don't even recognize a few people [:'(]
Well if you wanna know, there is almost no difference between the k03 sport and the k04, it would be almost a complete waste of money to upgrade to a k04 from a k03 sport which is equipped on 01+ 1.8T engines.

lol you brought back a thread from 05 to answer "more hp" lol
no its not. the k03 sport is exactly the same as far as i know. the reason the 01+ a4's got an increase in horsepower was because of variable valve timing, different compression (from 9.5:1 to 9.3:1) and different programming that increased the boost by .3 bar (from .5 to .8)

the sport turbo is just slighly larger than the k03. with a chip your lookin at 217 instead of 208. its only like a 10hp diff in flow

there are 2 differences in the ko3 and ko3s.
ko3 has a 4mm wheel shaft
ko3s has a 5mm wheel shaft
the ko3s has slightly more aggressivly angled fins on the compressor wheel than the plain ko3. thus being able to handle slightly more boost more efficiently..
the compression ratio and VVT have little to pretty much nothing to do with the increase in performance. the VVT is for emissions purposes only.

what i wana know is why would they redesign a turbo for such minimal gains?
