Ok so today im pulling out of my driveway and my whole car starts to shake(while im parked) then the check engine light comes on, i wonder whats wrong and i think of the oil cuz it has approx been about 5000km since my last change however no oil light was on, anyways i check the oil and the car is completely out and dry, I go to canadian tire and buy 5L of Mobil 1 5w30 and put a bit in to see if it fixes anything but no still shaking and now when I pull the dipstick out its like black **** and on top of that i saw some oil leaks on my drive way after putting in the mobil 1, is my car driveable or would you suggest I get it towed to my local oil change shop, also do you think I have severe damage at all?

Sounds like you had have a bad oil leak. Hopefully the engine doesn't seize on you. If possible pull up the codes. Was there a low oil pressure warning light?

 

its not possible for me to pull up codes, I am taking it into my local oil change shop tomorrow I will be getting it towed there so I dont drive and damage anything. Would a siezed engine cost alot in repair?

 

dont start it again..
and a seized motor means you will pretty much need a new one.. i doubt if i shop would be willing to rebuild a motor

 

Don't take it to an oil change shop. Take it to a mechanic who deals with Audis.

How much oil did you put in to get it full, I doubt that the problem is oil. I'll bet it is a bad coil pack.

 

I only had to put in about maybe half of the 4.4L container of my mobil 1 and then there was enough oil on the dip stick. So if it were to be a bad coil pack is that an expensive repair, or is that a stupid question cuz all repairs seem so expensive on this car.

 

also just a concern, what could cause a bad coil pack like i only have 113000 km on the car and its had regular maintanance

 

coil packs are about 40$ eachcdn so its not that bad...

also, since you said it happened right when your where leaving your driveway im also leaning on the possibility of a bad coil.. but you still need to bring your car to a shop that knows german cars because that oil leak could or might have cost new a brand new engine... you better pray that you dont need a new engine.. cause you sure will be hating your A4 if you do.. $$$$$$$$

Imconfused he put in 2 liters on his engine and hes concerned about a coil pack, how do lose all of your oil and be concerned about a dam coilpack. Get teh engine looks at if you need a new one you are so SOL. Sorry man this kinda stuff happens.

 

K so the dealership looked at it and told me it is the ignition control module and they are saying to get a new one and have it installed will be about $430 canadian, does this sound right?
