No doubt this question has been brought up before, but I got 98 2.8Q and I'm only getting on average 280 miles per tank. With normal wear over the years its understandable to lose some fuel efficiency, but the specs say 19mpg (city). So I should be getting around 311 miles per tank. Granted I live in NYC and its ALL city miles but I feel I should be getting a bit more. Whats your miles per tank?

This question is mainly for 2.8 owners, and if anyone has any (educated) ideas on how to improve gas mileage let me know. Thanks.

Also has anyone else noticed that where you buy gas affects your mileage?

I get anywhere from 22-24mpg and thats equal to 280-300 something. But I do alot of city driving.

I usually get about 300, sometimes more. Although that doesn't mean anything to you because I have a 1.8T with a k04, and you have 2.8. Apples and oranges

with my 2002 1.8t auto, i can get as low as 200 miles per tank. mostly driving around college, no highway driving.

if i drive just highway, i can get near 400.

My 2002, I'm lucky to get 300 a tank... A lot of city and uphill driving, I live on the side of a mountain... [:@]

almost 380 everytime (alot of city/hway)

highway sometimes i can push close to 500 if im at a maxd out gas tank

since you have a 2.8,an answer from a 1.8 prob wont help you much.my 2.8 30v gets from 22-30.usually 23.7 normal or 30.8 highway

if im taking it slow i get about 25-27mpg. but if i get on it then about 5-8, atleast thats what the computer says

i get 280 to 15 gals, thats 18.67

where are yall getting 22 from 280? maybe yall r filling up less?
