Default wheel bearing

I think my right rear bearing is going, starting to make some noise. Does anyone know what the typical cost to repair is? 1999 A4 2.8l quattro

Thanks

I just did mine....

Tokk less than an hour to pull it out.

~70 for the bearing
~44 to have it pressed in.

To do it, you need a 14 mm hex, or whatever sixe the bolt is (if you have a the bolt head instead of the hex). 17 and 19mm wrenches/sockets. And I beleive it was a T-50 or 55 torx I used to remove the caliper.

It's actually really simple. Just make sure you disconnect the ABS sensor from under the rear seat and feed it through...you will break the old one if you try to remove it.

The Audi dealer will charge $247 to replace a rear wheel bearing. I've had three replaced on my a4 so far, all covered w/ extended warranty.

My mechanic did it for 2 hours labour... I considered pulling the bearing, and just paying to have the new one pressed in... but I figured for 2 hours labour, at 45 an hour for my mechanic... I didn't have to lift a finger
