Default wheel spacers + chop COMBO

ok so i got some 18" wheels on my B5 a4 and i really need to get it chopped and i also want to put on some spacers. there is about a 2-3 inch gap for the front and rear tire. so my question is does anyone have 18" wheels with spacers and lowering springs on?? how much did you lower it and how wide of spacers did you get? i was thinking like maybe an 1 1/5 inch lower and about 10mm spacers for front and 20mm for back, is that too much??? any recommendations? i jsut dont want my tires to bump/rub againts the wheel well.

18's shouldn't hit your fenders, it's 19's that will fairly easily. Then it's pull out a baseball bat and roll your fender back to shape. You should be fine given you're running somewhat stiff springs and good shocks by Bilstein or H&R. If you just throw some springs on stock shocks you might be asking for trouble.

a buddy of mine got 18s and spacers for his 2000 grand prix gtp... the rims looked great but the spacers made it look absolutely horrendous. the extra inch or two that the wheels came out made it look like a tractor or something... it was ridiculous. i'm not saying it will end up being that bad on an a4, because i haven't seen it. just some input.

put spacers in and you will need to turn the wheel arches up but it looks good

18's will hit on cornering if you drop the car low enough.
As long as the spacers don't put the tire outside of the lip of the fender it will look fine.

When you say "chopped" I sincerely hope you are not referring to chopping off your springs.

And I believe what Avant80 is talking about with the arches is rolling the fenders, no?

hahh noooo that is so gritty, ive been doing some research and ive decided to get the coil over kit vs. getting shocks and springs, i really like the versitility of a coil over kit. anyways so is that a yes on the spacers and if so what mm do you guys think would look best.
