Default Wheel Theory: Baby (stock) Brakes = Busy Wheel

I am wondering how people with stock brakes can buy 5 and 6 spoke wheels. I think that having "open" looking wheels and stock brakes just over emphasises the fact that your brakes and rotors are tiny and unsweet. I do not plan on upgrading my brakes, but I do plan on lowering my ride and rollin on A8L 18"s, and probably painting my calipers a grey or gunmetal color. The reason I think I want the A8L wheels is because the look cool, but more importantly, they hide my brakes a bit more thatn other 5 spoke or mesh type wheels. Anyone agree or disagree?

I like these wheels, Hartmann is expensive, but quality. I hear the "same" Replica wheels on ebay are NOT the same. Has anyone bought discount rep wheels on ebay and been happy?

Hartmann 1080.00
EbAY 560.00

Price has to be too good to be true.

Disagree. Yes the brakes look tiny compared to a big brake kit but just painting the calipers can drastically improve the look. Besides, its not like I'm pushing alot of hp where I need huge brakes, they do there job just fine. Personally I prefer the 5 spoke look but those wheels aren't bad though.

I dissagree too...
I always get comments on how big my stock brakes look...compared to what come on ricers.
I mean At least were not showing off drum brakes in the rear like all the civics i see every day

If you need to have bigger brakes in order to make your Audi look "beautiful" then I think you skipped on a few show mods.

I'd love to put a BBK on my wagon but due to the wheels I run I can only clear the stock B6 caliper. Even the B7 caliper is too big.

I would love to put a sweet brake kit on mt wagon also, but it would be only for show ... cause I don't drive hard enough to really use em ... but man it would look sweet! Over a grand (or 2) for a little extra bling just don't agree with my wallet. I guess I have been looking at too many tuner mags and my eyes are spoiled seeing every car with BBK's. I like hearing everyone's opinions on the subject ..... I just cant wait to get the A8L 18's ... with calipers painted gunmetal .. should be off the hook .. I just orders the StaSiS street sport coilovers, so I should be riding alittle lower in a couple of weeks. As long as my stocker braked look better that the stock ricer brakes .... I will be happy!
