Wheel/tire size question…

Wheel/tire size question…
I did the search, but did not find anything concrete… What is the max wheel/tire combo that would work on 35mm lowered B5 TQ in 18” (width, offset and tire size)… I really don’t want to roll the fenders at this point and don’t want to rub either…
Thanks,
D

RE: Wheel/tire size question…
I know that 18x8 with a 40 section will not rub. I do not know about anything past that, but plenty of people have 8.5" wide wheels, and I think Tom's Porsche wheels are 9 inches. ET is always +35mm. I dunno about those 9 inchers, though.

RE: Wheel/tire size question…
Tom's saving grace is that he runs 235/40/18's... the wheels are sort of too wide for the tires, so the tires sidewall is sort angled... making the overall diameter a little smaller. I'm running 235/45/17's on an 8.5" wheel, and the tire is nice and meaty -- protects the rim because it bulges out past it.
However, I could NEVER drop my car as low as tom has... I'd rip my wheel wells apart.

RE: Wheel/tire size question…
I'm running 8.5" with 235's... not even as low as I wanna go, and I'm rubbing... I dont think it's the fenders though, I think its the plastic liner. Once I ditch the plastic liner, THEN I'll roll the fenders, and drop the front another 3/4" or so.

RE: Wheel/tire size question…
Thanks for your feedback! Springs that I've purchased are 35mm, really dont want to go any lower (already have one of those)... So to be on the safe side, using 18x8 with ET35-40 and tire 225/40/18 should do ok with 2-3 people in the car I guess...
headshok - how low is your car right now?
Yuikio - I know that Flik wheels you running are ET35, rubbing at all? How low is your setting?
Thanks,
D
