Keep in mind though that it's YOUR car and you can put pink wheels on it if you like 'em, and if everyone hates, so be it. Build it the way you want to. All the same though, I understand doing the poll - it's nice to put your sweat, tears, money, and time into a car to build it how you like it, but it's even more rewarding when others also appreciate your creation.

Just as a side, have you used Tire Rack's wheel selector to see what different wheels look like on your car? You may find another style there that you like even more - it's worth the three minutes.

Besides, I want the black mesh wheels and I don't wanna be copying anyone

Yeah actually both those pics are from tirerack. Anyway you don't have to lecture me on going against the grain. My car has euros and I love them.

I think the silver AR1s are better, and they cost the same as the black. I almost got those for my car.

im not a big fan of black, nor chrome, we just put 19' polished wheels on the benz, which is also silver and that looks really good.

Yeah but silver is so.....STOCK. I don't know IMO if you are gonna getwheels you want something that no one will take for a factory upgrade. Granted a lot of cars come factory on chrome wheels now I don't know its just how I feel. Its the same reason I wont paint my lowers instread of gettign a kit. The whole point to exterior modifications (for me) is to break away from the mold of the original vehicle and make your exceptional and stand out mongst the rest. Again IMO. That style wheel in silver is also classic honda out her in AZ. Hondas never have chrome or black, just the silver.

Heheh, well not trying to "lecture" you really - just restating the obviousI guess I agree with your point below though, about modding the exterior so that it sits apart from the masses. I like doing that as well, however I will pick and choose when to apply that philosophy - I won't mod just for the sake of saying I have mods (not accusing you of that either). I like a fairly subtle but different look to the car, which is why I'm kind of torn between painted lowers and a kit. I'll probably paint the lowers, look at it for awhile, and decide then. Wheels though, I agree with you. The ASAs in silver look a lot like many of the OEM optional BMW wheels for the 5 series. You're right that it doesn't make sense to drop a grand or two on wheels that are only a little different that OEM options. I'd also add that the same theory applies on buying wheels that look like they'd be optional OEM - for example, putting BBS mesh-style wheels in silver on a Jetta - it's just the design of wheel that you would expect to see on that car. There has to be some certain minimum amount of variation from OEM and OEM-ish for the wheels to be worth buying (in my opinion anyway). Doing the black wheels definitely qualifies. Doing them in silver, I don't think that would qualify. But hey, opinions and a**holes...

Totally agree. Its like owning a restaurant and then closing it down for 2 months saying major renovations are going on and then spending 30G's on them. Then for the Grand Re-opening people go "what the hell did you cahnge?" Well the table clothes are 2 shades lighter, we added an extra candle to every table, the spoons at .3mm wider we serve ice cubes that are cubed or crushed, the wallpaper has a bit more gold in it and we now can seat 150 instad of 148. WOW! Don't think it was worth the time or effort if it is barely noticeable.

Heheh, that's cool I've been eyeing a few other wheels myself, although still black with polished lip. Good choice on yours too - I look forward to the pics. I've seen a couple other silver B5s with black/polished lip wheels on here, and it looks great. Yours will too, and so will mine (when I get my new wheels). Congrats
