Default When installing B+M STS how do you resecure the shift ****??

I am tackling this project after work today, but I do not see another clamp like the one I will need to cut off. You can't reuse the old one I assume, and the only other thing I can see that "might" work is a plastic zip strip. Am I missing something? Should I use a hose clamp or what does those of you who have already installed this have to say? Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

my neuspeed short shifter came with a band to resecure it. You might be missing some hardware?

Thanks jesty,
I am going to call B+M in a while and ask them what is supposed to be used to re mount the ****... I think I may be missing something as well. I have bad luck when it comes to getting parts; I was missing my mounting hardware for my front sway bar and wasn't able to install it for over a month...! Thanks again...

There was nothing to cut off on my B&M SS. (2001.5, 5spd) The Shift boot just slides over and secures with friction fit. The **** just screws on normally on the threads. Then just pop in the Metal insert in position on top of the ****.

The hardest part was trying to squeeze your fingers into to try get at the mounting bolts to put in and take out.

Which Year is your car? Does it have the push down for Reverse? Possibly a different fitment than mine.

Thanks guys for all your help and quick replies! I called B+M and they said "yes" that is what the zip-strip is for... I would think they would have spent the extra $1 to get us a metal clamp, but I think I can find a metal clamp at the shop that will work or perhaps a low profile hose clamp may work... or I have a more heavy duty zip strip I'll use in a worst case scenerio. I'll let you all know how it turns out... I've been doing a LOT to this car lately and I can hardly get used to a new upgrade before I go and do another one! This is fun! Catch ya on monday with the results!

Thanks everyone for your help; I installed it tonight and it is definitely an improvement! Shorter and smoother shifts and very comfortable now. I must say the instructions leave MUCH to be desired, but I completed the job in about 1.5hrs. I ended up using a hose clamp instead of the cheap zip strip and it worked very well and now the **** doesn't even twist at all (I had very minor movement on the stock shifter). I would recommend this upgrade; it is easy enough, just be patient and make sure you have all your tools ahead of time.

Nice job. I wish I had known you needed help with the instructions. I have a good one from AMS - very detailed.
