If your trying to get to 60 the fastest, there is no point in using tip mode. All you have to do is floor it in regular auto mode and keep the pedal to the floor till you reach 60. Tip mode is most useful for holding a lower gear for powerwhen cruising/passing and chosing your shift points. If you want the fastest straight line time, the best shift points are at redline through every gear, and regular auto mode will know when that time comes quiker and more accurately than you.

what about in a stick shift, where do you guys usally launch at?

i'm launching at 3800.

ORIGINAL: hiwords

put it in neutral, rev to 2.5k and keep it there. put shifter into D. then push the shifter into tip mode
after you do this you can start looking for a new transmission. I knew a guy in a 1.8t gti that did this one too many times and KABOOM! no more tranny.
