Where is my power steering fluid going?
I juuust dealt with the same problem except i didnt know it until my power steering was buzzing like a cheap honda... Check your PS system and make sure that all the clamps are secure i cant remember where exactly my leak was but it was somewhere near the bottom of the engine at one of the systems clamps(this is what the mechanic told me) Just check all the lines and see if you have any defective hoses.
how much do you think you have put in it? since you noticed it started leaking?
but no, it's not right under the resivoir. follow the hydrolic line hoses from the power steering rack. look underneath the driverside of the engine bay and you should see it

Mine was recently leaking at the larger hose that connects to the resevoir, and from both connections to the power steering cooler(thought it was an oil cooler at first, learned that one the hard way).
It is either the hoses at the connector (cheap), or your steering rack (expensive).
BTW, what have you been topping it up with? Hopefully you are using OEM or Pentosin 11S fluid, not generic "Power steering fluid" or transmission fluid. If so, you will need to flush the entire system once you find and repair the leak.
There is no power steering cooler.

As David9999 said the steering rack is expensive to replace. I'm having mine
replaced now.A remanufactured rackcosts $350 with a core return from

I think there is 4 hours labor and a wheel alignment is needed.
Good luck hoping it's a hose.

I know for a fact that mine has a power steering cooler on it. The hoses that connect to it are seeping on mine. I bought a can of CHF 11S fluid and after looking on the resevoir it said G 002 000. I had to do some searching to find they are compatable and found another article that said any Audi coming out of the factory since 1990 had CHS 11S it it. So I'll replace my hoses and refill it.
