Default whine noise at startup

I have a 2003 A4 Turbo and recently I've noticed a high pitch whine noise in the morning when I first start the engine. It sounds like the turbo is spinning but I don't know if this is possible because the car is at idle. I've only recently noticed the noise and lately temperatures have been droping below freezing during the night. Could this have something to do with it? The noise promptly goes away once I drive off and I have not noticed any performance or mechanical issues. Does anyone know what this might be? Should I take the car in to have it checked? Thanks.

Noises are extremely hard to diagnose in person, let alone over the internet.

Could be your secondary air pump.
