Default Whining noise...

I've been trying to figure out this whining noise I hear in my car. At 3200 rpm and sometimes at 2600 i hear a whining noise, it goes away when the car warms up, but while the motor is still cold I can hear it. Anyone else have this issue or have any ideas about it? I searched but couldn't find anything remotely close to this problem. [sm=headbang.gif]

it could be nothing apart from a cold start issue, it it doesn't cause a problem like CEL coming on then there is little to worry about

Could be old bearings in one of your pulleys for your belts, and they just need to move and heat up a little to stfu. Could also be a worn power steering pump struggling to get fluid flow through it on a cold start up. Check fluid levels of course because another thing it could be is a starving water pump acting the same way as a struggling power steering pump on a cold start. Could be an overly tensioned belt that needs to heat up a little to expand to stfu too.

If all else fails, put the wife in the trunk and see what happens.

It did start once i replaced the timing belt/tensioners/belts and water pump, as long as it's nothing major, I'll just crank the stereo up...That should drown out the wife in the trunk too...

When she's in the front seat it's more of a nagging/bitching noise...
