Whistle when it rains
Hey so it rained today for like the first time since january and I have had my car serviced 2 times in the past month, now suddenly when it rained the engine started making a loud whistling sound. Very high pitched but not like the squeel of a belt or anything. the volume increased as I got to higher RPMs when I shifted to a lower gear the sound got fainter until the RPMs rose again. it also increases pitche with higher RPMs, I hear it very faintly sometimes and very loud other times. totally bizarre, anyone ahve any ideas what might be causing this sound so I can have it checked out?
thanks!
thanks!
wheel bearing im getting the same issue,i have to wait alil while till i can bring it in, i got no money. But thats what i got going on, may want to check it out, jack up the car and spin the tires and see which one squeeks
the only thing ive heard that would make sense is this: when i first start the car, especially in colder weather the turbo whines at about 3000rpm for a few minutes until it warms up. perhaps the cooler weather in the rain is causing this....not sure otherwise
Well mine is the v6 3 liter so its definately not the turbocharger as I dont have one. Might be a wheel bearing but it is specifically happening only when it rains. It rained again today and I could hear it, kind of sounds like a loose belt or something to me but its not really a squeeling sound, more of a whistel. Also it gets much louder at higher RPMs, then decreases when it shifts, if this were a wheel bearing wouldnt it just be dependant on speed?
