Dragging is what you make it to be. For me it is only a measurement of what my car can do. Have only been to the track twice in my audi in one year. Who cares if someone drags there audi every weekend. I don't loose sleep on it, it doesn't bother me, at least they are in an audi, a car that they like, just like anyone who enjoys there audi.

Everyone talks about "racing through the twisties" in the rain, how many of these people actually do i dunno, i just laugh when i hear people talk about it.
I live in the hills 35 miles outside of Seattle:S Drizzle,Rain, Showers,peasoup fog are my daily diet of driving.

Don't get me wrong I grew up going to the drags, cars, snowmobiles and snomobile grass drags.

I can understand while people do it. I simply am the type of person who would look for a more dedicated drag car than an audi. That is not to say I would not drag my audi.

<shrugs>

Most people dont race in the rain/snow. People just say" Ill take you in the snow/rain" to make themselves feel better. Its a mind thing i guess.
I agree, most people do not take their cars as seriously as members on this forum. Even here there is a wide disparity between how involved we each are in the modding and Racing of our cars. I'll say it again, I did not buy a European car, to drive 1/4 mile at a time. I wanted a tight, smooth, sophisticated vehicle for my every day driving in this great state of Washington. Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong with using it for a 1/4 of a mile.

yeah WA area has plenty of Twisty roads.. and is always raining.. I drive the crap out of my car on those roads in those conditions.. except I dont race them, because the last thing I would want to do have an accident or watch somebody else have an accident. I only put my own life in danger when I push it to the limit. Wouldnt want to take a chance of an error causing me to hit somebody else. I like it when the roads are wet and empty.. thats how i get down

Yea I didn't build my car for the 1/4 hence why it hasnt seen the track in over a yr. Actually I built it more to build it then to drive it. Kinda sounds weird but sometimes I have more fun working on it then I do driving it, although driving its a blast too.

Ross: thanks for the offer lol, unfortunatly I dont see this thing going ona diet anytime soon, my shopping list for next season is done and it looks although this project is finally winding down. I dont want to lose any comforts at all so a diet is out of the question

Tom, unless u ride alot in the back of your car, the comfort will stay exactly the same for you.

btw- When are we racing? You clearly made a deal with me saying you would race me with 500pd of dead weight in your car. Remember?, you were trying to tell me weight doesnt mean anything? haha,I am more then ready to race now

Naah, actaully back seat doesnt weigh much, only about 50pd total. Thats with evevrything. Once u take out the spare, lightweight battery,backseat it starts to add up.

Yeah I'd never take out the backseat... I'd want to have a 3rd passenger more often than I'd go to the strip.

I wouldn't ditch my spare either... I thought about it... but no. I want to know that I have it in there.

I agree that weight makes a difference though... my camaro is special because it is equipped with the 1le special performance pkg... on top of several handling improvements via suspension and suspension components, it is lighter than all z28's because of its lack of options. All z28's came factory with AC... mine doesnt have it. 1le deletes it. It's pretty cool... and weight savings dont just help in a straight line... braking gets better, handling gets better, responsiveness improves... It is overall a very good thing to shave weight.

But not for my audi.
