Who Would Win?
So I'm looking at getting a GIAC chip here soon but a buddy of mine who has a 2000 525i and he keeps saying how he can just destroy me no matter what I do. I know that stock vs stock he's got my by about 20 crank HP plus RWD vs AWD but I was wondering if with a chip I'd be closer or be able to go by?
It will be an extremely close race. His 0-60 is about 8 seconds (more like 9 seconds for auto), and a chipped 1.8t can do just under that (about 8 seconds for atuo.) The BMW might weigh a little more too.
ha. Just today i was running one on the high way. it was somwhat older 525, and all i have is a 2.8 with custom intake and straight pipes, and we were extreamly close, i started to pull away around 115 but then we hit some traffic and our fun was over
=[. So i would assume a 1.8 chipped wouldnt have much of a problem doin a little ownin.

stock for stock you should be dead even., he ways 400lbs more than you. My buddy has and I have a diode modded 2001 TQM. When I was stock it came down to who got the jump off the line once I did the mod I got him every time, even if he got the jump.
Ok, sounds good. Looks like with the chip I'll be much better off.
Kinda off topic but when I launch, I dont have that great of a bite. Pretty much everyone is able to launch harder than I can. Any chance that a torn DV can cause this? I have a feeling my DV is bad because when I get up around 5k, I hear boost releasing. Sounds very similar to a BOV. As soon as I hit about 3k in 2nd, I get moving and quick too. It seems like there is almost no boost in 1st.
