Default Wierd Brake Problem

My brakes squeel like crazy and have since I bought the car around a month ago. But only in the morning or if I haven't drived the car for a specific amount of time. Sounds horrible and it real high pitched. After about 5 or so good brakes on my commute it will go away. Any explanations? Thanks

When the car sits or it rains, the rotors oxidize a little bit. when you get them warm plus the friction from the pads it goes away. Next time you dont drive it for a couple days, look for orange spots on the rotors.

That how you know if someone has been test driving a car before you buy it. If there is rust on the rotor, its been sitting for a few days.

I understand. but even if it just sits for a night it makes a horrible noise in the morning. How will I know when I need to replace my brake pads? Thanks

Its fine, if you live in an area that is cold or has a lot of moisture your gonna get a little grinding in the morning, just give it one good stomp on the brakes and it should go away.
Checking the pads is easy, just flash a light in between the wheel spokes and look at how thick the brake pad thickness is, when its to about 4-5mm you should replace them, thats about the thickness of 3 nickels stacked on top of each other.
