I hear strange noise, like hit, when driving, from the fuel tank I belive. I drive a4 tdi 2004. The hits are louder when the thank is full till half full. Is fuel tank not fixed enough and is hiting the car body or what ?? Can you help It is really disturbing. Thanks

wow that could get dangerous, i would deff make sure they tank is secure, i doubt it isnt but still worth checking, what may have happeneding is your fuel pump is floating, ist supposed to be secure in the tank and has a floater to suck up the gas, if teh pump is free it could be banging around, or you have **** suspension and the bang you are hearing is the suspension not working at all. Im going to lean with suspension. get underneath and check. or bring to the stealership

Everything is OK with suspension for sure!! It is the tank him self or something in it. If it s the pump floating inside it woud probably not work??!!

I say its something floating in the tank. The dealer will probably charge you something like $500 to fix.

My guess is the tank is not secure... Get under there and make sure thething is tightened to the subframe.

I have the same problem with A4 TDI 2006 . I was in service and they said, that everything is ok.
The problem is still there

Some gas tanks (not sure about Audi's) have baffles suspendedin the tank to keep the sloshing/moving fuel quiet and more level when the body of the car moves.. Sometimes the baffles can be noisy, especially on a full tank when a lot of fuel is being moved around. Just a thought, but Id be sure to get under there and take a look too. Try to grab stuff and shake it to recreate the sound and to pinpoint where its coming from.

When the car is cold, get under the trunk and shake the car. Listen
for the noise and fell vibrations.

Today, technics browsed my car and they did not find anything strange. The sounds are sometime so loud, so I think it is not normal.

You have checked in the trunk around/bellow the spare tire under the carpet and cardboardright?
