that part # is the remote only that will not work for a A4 but the key part should be 4d0837246b roh

Ok here is what my key says on it:

FCC ID: MZ2 410 819 6 4
CANADA: 2674 102 666 VDO

4D0.837.231D 41.98

The Three button remotes will work, but you will obviously not have any trunk unlock feature.

The A4 specifies an FCC number of MZ2 410 819 6 4, while the ebay link uses MZ2 410 819 6 3.

So from people's past experiences, the remote WILL work. Of course I am goign to say if it doesn't, don't blame me.

Good thinking. My dealer charges 5 bucks to cut the key. You may want to call ahead and find out how much it is.

They told me $10 to cut and program it.

not bad, a lot of dealers charge a LOT more.
