Default Windshield washer won't hold fluid

1998 Audi A4 2.6 AWD

I had the JE control arm recall done a couple of months ago and all of a sudden I had no windshield washer fluid. I filled the reservoir only to find it all dripped out onto my shoes as I was filling

How hard is it to get to the bottom of the reservoir? Looks pretty impossible from the top.

Thoughts?

Thanks

You have to take the tire off and remove the wheel liner. It is held in by a dozen screws or so. Then you have full access to the two pumps and the tank. The pumps are known to crack easily.

Well found the source of my leak but can't figure out where it goes. Theres a yellowish clear hose that comes off the front side of the pump. Its got clips on the ends but its wide open. I'm trying to figure out if it is supposed to be plugged or if it goes somewhere. Please help

sounds like your describing the connection to the headlight washers. remove the driverside lower grill and you will be able to acces it. hopefully it still has the black clip thing on it. heres what it looks like.

Yup. I found it. How do you get the lower grill out? I thought I had got it on there but when i put it back together it sill leaked from the top of the hose. I even put the clip on it. I probably didn't get it on there all the way.

you just pull on the grill, use the tab. if your tab is broken like mine is just get some plyers on it and pull HARD. and yea the thing has to be on all the way. after putting the clip on give it a tug, to make sure its on right.

Where do you get the tee that connects the washer fluid reservoir with the headlight washers? I broke mine when I was taking my bumper off the second time I took my car to Meineke for an alignment (incompetent bastards) and I have been without windshield washer fluid since then. Not really a big deal except winter is coming, and driving to the mountains without washer fluid is the same as driving to the mountains with your sun screen on your windshield.
