Default wrecked audi

have a 03 a4 1.8t 5speed and got hit by a drunk driver the other night and totaled it. I was APR stage 1+ and am getting an 05 a4 1.8 6speed as soon as insurance is handled. What's the best way to go about transferring the chip to my new car if possible or will APR be willing to help me out? Anyone have any experiance with this or a similar issue?

ok now sneek into where ever has your car a jack the ECU : )

My cousin had a camaro that he put a ton of $$$ into- he was hit and totalled it a - the ins company paid him more because he proved how much money was into the car - if you give them recipts they may give you more. Its not illegal to have mods on your car.

hey i know it is a lil bit out of topic but does anyone knows how the insurance thing works when you total the car? how much do they pay you besides your deductible? do they pay the real value of the car or how do they decide what the value of your car is?

they should pay "retail" the price it would cost you to get into the exact same car (options, mileage, etc..) at a dealer.

I had my old car broken into, subs and amp stolen. I also reported that my 120 CD case was stolen. Turns out Homeowners covers that and they gave me $1000 just for the CD's. So maybe some of your CD's were damaged in the accident...

careycj0219about yourecu transfer. I had a similar expierence and my buddy totaled my car all drunk. Im not too familiar with APR but I had a GIAC chip and they told me to send the chip in with the ecu of the new car I bought and they will re-program it for about $95. As the insurance thing went, my friends insurance paid for the whole new car and 2K extra for all the performance extras. Just had to have proof (reciepts). Turned out sweeter then my old car, I hope the drunk guy that totaled yours had insurance or your kinda screwed.
