Default wrecked my car monday night

long story short. blow out on right rear around a 35mph corner. was doing closer 70. steering no longer was responding. right off the road through some bushes, sideswiped some metal poles. alot of barbed wire ran along the passenger side. and a road sign came through the windshield at close to 60mph. lucky to have walked away i know. the roof is the worst part. well except for the fact that i only have liability insurance on this car. so i took it to a body shop. they said its fixable. but im scared to hear a price. im guessing close to 5k maybe?!? all headlights are in tact. bumper no damage. no airbags weant off. its all body except for the roof. and windsheild. any ideas as to what i might get back?! im guessing 3-6k. motor and tranny are fine. no leaks. DAMN!

Wow...... I have no idea.

But, I do agree with you....the majority of that is going to be fixing the roof.

even though that roof looks bad it's not rly dat bad. but it's great ur ok. just pull out as much dents as u can and jsut use body filler for the rest. buff it paint it clear coat it. good thing ur car is black. jsut get a new front windshield. and how bad was the tire that blew. was it like bald? nvr try to go too fast on bad tires but for the future man jsut be careful.

^^^ agree. Mine is a '99 and i have full coverage. I'd rather pay the extra money each month for such an event as yours. It's piece of mind.

Glad you're okay though - that's what really matters.

Is that a B6? How could anyone drive a late model car and not have full coverage on it? I had a 12 year old Mercedes, and I kept full coverage on it.

thats why it was sign posted that you should do 35mph round the corner and not 70mph round a corner.

maybe getting a blow out was 'lucky'......

but no sympathy from me.

Well, I guess that's one way to kill your understeer.

Word of advice, even though those yellow signs aren't speed limits, they are advisories for a reason.

it was most likely a tire defect, how many miles were on the tire? posted speed limits are never the designed speed limit. typically the design speed limit is almost close to 20mph over the posted speed limit. Also speed limits are not always designed on the lay of the land or how sharp a curve is, it also depends on traffic in the area...

Well...I'm glad you are okay. However, I can't give you too much sympathy because you were doing 70 around a 35 mph corner. Call me an *** but thats just stupid driving. Have fun with your car...but be safe. I guess this can be used as an example for other people, I know I'll think of this next time I feel like gettin on it away from the racetrack.
