Default wrx or b7 a4?

Just wondering how the b7's stack up against an '05 wrx? What about the capabilities of the new 2.0t? Is it going to be able to put out 300+hp without a ton of mods?

Hey, welcome to the forum. I test drove both cars before I bought my B7. The Audi was 10x the car the WRX was. There is already a chip out from MTM that yields 250hp. I'm sure in a year or so there will be a turbo upgrade that will easily have you over 300hp.

If it's still a KO3, which I'm reasonably sure of, that means a KO4 will bolt on with little drama, which also means that all it will take is the time to write some software and the demand for it to get up over 300 chp.

We've done this whole thing before, and I think the consensus was that 1. The A4 is the single divine template from which all other, lesser turbo AWD cars were wrought, and Subarus are ugly, stupid ricerockets, uh, that are stupid. And ugly.

2. the WRX is quicker, a little lighter, by most measures more sporty out of the box

3. the A4 is nicer in every other way, and with enough money to make up the difference between a used Rex and a used B5, the Audi can definitely play with, if not surpass, the Subie. Ask Tom Ritt if you doubt.

I added the second part, if you werent' there for the original debate. It's true, though.

What about a 1.8T compared to a WRX as opposed to the 2.0T?
