ok so last couple days ive noticed a clanking/rattling coming from my passenger side front wheen/suspension.. so i decided to get out my jack .. raise the car up and investigate... well i got side tracked by this poking out at me:




so of course i was like WTF IS THIS? AND WHY IS IT NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING? it had some electrical tape around the bare wires but i pulled it off to see what it was..

so i try to pull take my wheels off so i can get a better look.. but guess what .. the last jackass who put my wheels on.. put them on so tight that the lugs wont budge and inch.. so crawled underneath and snapped the best shots that i could.. to see what the other end was connected to .. and where it was supposed to go... ALSO.. i checked the passenger side.. SAME DAMN THING! .. wires unconnected.. and taped on the ends..

SOMEONE please tell me wtf this is.. what i need to do.. and why i have NO WARNING lights going off or anything..

maybe a wheel speed sensor I cant really tell from the picks.

 

you can see.. that it looks like they have been that way for a LONG time.. i have no codes or warnings ?

 

I do admit it is wierd. If your wheel speed sensor was phucked then the abs light would kick on. There may have been a connector on the end and it may have worn off through contact with the rotor. If nothing is wrong then you may be ok but Id have a mechanic or someone look at it.

 

It looks like maybe the dude before you removed the brake pad warning sensor and happend to cause a short where by making it so there would be no "warning" light...just my .o2......

 

Thats exactlly what it is. Someone hardwired the system to be permantly disabled.
Just a note the abs speed sensor wiring is clipped in below the red dot in picture two. You can see where the wiring loom goes into the spindle just to the left of the red dot in the same picture.

 

so ...is any of this real bad? or just not going to set off the alarms? b/c i dont want my abs system to be all screwed up..

Its not going to hurt anything at all, now your car just thinks its brake pads are always good....... all they do is make your car beep at you when your brakes are getting worn to the point of replacement.... but not going to hurt anything so your good

 

awesome... what about the ABS wires he was talking about?

 

If it were that your car would be all pissed off and youd have your abs light goin off and beeping at you and all kinda of stuff, and in your pix you can see that abs sensor is hooked up
