Just out driving normal and all of a sudden car looses power and stars studdering and check engine light is flashing. Pulled over and checked oil-OK. Turbo is glowing. Exhaust is studdering like I am on 2-3 cylinders. 3 weeks ago I changed the spark plugs with OE plugs. I am going to get my friends diagnostics tool. I will post the codes.

 

hey kinda like what my car is doing but i did not get a CEL. Still going to get it pluged and find out whats going on.

 

Code read P0302 cylinder #2 misfire. I erased the code started it back up and same s#$%. I think it may be one of the new plugs being defectice. Any other ideas from anyone???

ignition control module...but i just noticed you had a b6 and i dont know if they have them cuz DBW cars dont have them. if you do its on top of the stock airbox

 

Its probably a bad coil. Swap the coil to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the coil.

 

its the icm. listen to chaos. i had the same exact problem ur describing. dont buy the oem one either, get the german one. just as good.

 

switched plugs got same coils then switched coils and got 0303 cylinder 3 misfire so I take it the coil is shot. Who offers some better coils?

 

There is no ICM on the '02.
