XM Radio Display Issue

XM Radio Display Issue
Just installed an XM receiver into my 2007 Audi A4. It works pretty well but there are a couple issues that I thought I would ask around about:
1) When changing channels there isa gap of a couple seconds, is this normal? My buddy rented a 2008 Escalade equipped with XM and it didn't have this issue.
2) The sound quality on some channels is pretty bad - like worse than CD quality and sometimes not even comparable to FM... what the heck?
3) When I program channel 82 into a preset it shows the name of the channel initially but after I turn my car back on it shows up with some weird gibberish. See photo: http://pub.ck84.ws/sat2.jpg
So is there some kind of firmware update to address these issues? I think my receiver is a pretty early version... 8E0 035 593 A.
