Thule Racks has recently launched an entire new line of base roof rack systems with design styling that is borrowed from their european styled car rack systems, which are unavailable in the US. Thule Racks has separate divisions in the United States and Europe. The new car rack systems are intended for late model european cars such as the Audi a4. These racks are the Thule 400XTR Aero Rapid roof rack, 450R Rapid Crossroad roof rack and the 430R Rapid Tracker II roof rack. The 400XTR and the 450R are the ones that'll work on Audi a4 models. The 400XTR is ofr roofs without any car rack currently and the 450R is for the a4 wagon with side rails, the 450R connects to the side rails. These racks look super hot on the Audi a4 because they are low profile, sleek and have elliptical aluminum bars for a fast look that fits the a4 design lines perfectly. A nice change from the clunky tired square bar design on the classic 400XT and 450 models.

I totally agree the Thule 400XTR Rapid Aero roof rack looks awesome! I recently had one installed on my 2004 Audi a4 and have got a lot of great comments. I did get the wrong Fit Kit clips the first time though. Make sure (for the 2004 model) that you get the Thule 2114 fit kit clips, these are made specifically for the 2004 audi a4.

You guys are silly, just make your own custom rack it's much cooler that way. My box sits about 1" off the roof, very sleek.

And I have skiied and snowboarded for years, but I have to stick with skiing, it's more fun. and faster.
