In my 2010 A5 there are 2 cup holders near the arm rest in the front center console. One is a good size the other seems too small for most drinks other than perhaps a can of pop- but even that is a tight fit with the spring loaded levers in the cup holder.

I am looking for thoughts or options to remove the existing setup-which is standard in the car and replacing it with cupholders in which both are the same size. My other thought was to disable the spring loaded levers in the smaller cup holder so that it is not so difficult to get a can in or out of it. I would need to get excellent instructions to work on the levers myself. Is there an after market alternative or replacement for the cup holder center console?

Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions to help with my dilemma- along with detailed instructions with photos would be extremely helpful.
