2010 vs 2011 Model
UPDATE 10/13: Just ordered the car from the dealership Gonna get it by the end of the year hopefully !
UPDATE: Apparently they do NOT have the car in stock (lying bastards). The wait time they say is 3 MONTHS I checked with every dealer in the area....they all say 3 months.
How long do you guys think the actual wait time will be? Based on your experiences, is the time-frame they give you any accurate? What can I expect?
********
I'm going to sign & pickup a new 2011 A5 coupe tomorrow from the dealership (base-model, no options). One concern I have is how to tell that the car is really a 2011 and not 2010 or older??? The 2 models look identical (correct me if I'm wrong)...so what should I be looking for?

Well if the A5 are anything like the A4's or A3's etc you can look in the driver door (or passenger side) for a sticker that will explain a few things including the year of manuafacture or model year. This can also be found under the hood (towards the front) which will tell you for example "This car is designed to meet all the emissions regulations for Model year 2011" etc. Also your contract should have 2011 in it as well as the bill of sale. You can also check the Chassis number, that will tell you the model year too. And one more thing of course is your Audi service book, it will have 2011 in it (or 2010)!

At the local dealerships here in Germany I have seen quite a few 2011 A5 Coupe's and A5 Sportbacks on the floor, you could always check out the display models the dealers have (if any) and usually you can get a discount on these as well. Drawback is though you will usually not get all the options you would like.
Bottom line, if the car is worth it to you, and you really would like to have it you can (suffer) the wait for 3 months. And at least by the time you get it spring will be that much closer!

I've always been leary of ordering a car. You could indeed wait 3 months, but the car that arrives may well have some features (that you wanted) missing, or they'll find a way to hit you up for more ca$h. Either way, I've heard plenty of horror stories. It's better to drive a few hundred miles and pick the car up off the dealer lot... at least then you'll know what you have!

Hey congratulates! Post some pic's once your baby arrives!

Cool. I did notice a difference with the inlaid areas on the doors. The (horizontal) trim insert on the 2011 definitely looks quite narrow, while I've seen other photos (perhaps the 2010) where the trim area is very wide.
